Time Disappears

I wish I could fly. Fly away from myself.
Just for a moment. Maybe a minute.
Look down upon me and take a deep breath.
I wish I could drive. Drive and crash through my walls.
Tear down the limits and preoccupation.
Take a few snapshots to hang in the hall.

Time disappears like a scared volunteer of a vaudeville magician
Laughing and leaving us looking for something, something that used to be there.
Time disappears like a grey-static ghost on an old television
Laughing and leaving us, laughing and leaving us, time disappears.

I wish I could crawl. Crawl out of my hole.
Lift up my head, try to see my way out.
Dust myself off straight down to my soul.
I wish I could stand. Stand up to my dreams.
Lose the excuses. Admit the ambition.
Peacefully settle into my skin.

Time disappears like a scared volunteer of a vaudeville magician
Laughing and leaving us looking for something, something that used to be there.
Time disappears like a grey-static ghost on an old television
Laughing and leaving us, laughing and leaving us, time disappears.

I wish I could fly. Fly away from myself.
Just for a moment. Maybe a minute
Look down upon me and smile.
