WHAT IS A LOOMER? (Ask Jack)

Jack discovered the answer in the Hanover, MA newspaper in an article describing an historical book about local birdhunters:
"A man like Bert couldn't seem to waste all his time just catering to city-bred guns and waiting for a gaggle of geese to get drawn into a live decoy set-up, so Bert was always prepared to put off on the outside of the beach in pursuit of the wily whitewings. Bert believed in big decoys --or real 'LOOMERS,' as they were known locally -- and always had a rig of them ready to go."
So now you know!
